WORKING WITH ME
|
| If you are interested in working with me please read the following carefully. Due to the large volume of email I receive from prospective students, I do not have time to respond to most email individually. Thus if you send me unsolicited email with questions that are answered below, I regret that I will not be able to reply.
To work with me, you must learn about what I do, and express a genuine interest in the research areas that I work in. Please take the time to look carefully at my web pages, and download some papers to read. In general, I am more likely to reply to a student who has taken the time to get some idea of what my research involves, especially if they can explain why they would be well-suited to make contributions in my research group.

| Current QUT Students |
Please email me your resume and a few paragraphs on why you want to work with me, or which of my current projects interests you. Note that I look favourably upon students who enroll in robotics and mechatronics units and do very well.
For students interested in 4th year projects (BEB 801/802) or independent study, there is a list of available projects on theĀ students projects page.

| Prospective QUT Students |
If you are a prospective postgraduate student, applying for the Master's or PhD program, I encourage you to apply. However I do not make admission decisions. Decisions are made by the admissions committee. Please apply directly to the university and forward all admission-related questions to them. Please DO NOT contact me directly about admissions questions. I will ignore all such emails.
Applications for postgraduate admission to QUT require a project proposal and designation of a potential supervisor. The proposal is a single-page, abstract-type proposal outlining the research that you will pursue over the course of your degree. This project proposal is a document that is fully composed by YOU.
If you are applying to an advertised position, please follow the application instructions given in the ad.
If you are submitting an unsolicited postgraduate application to QUT, and would like to nominate me to be your potential supervisor, please ensure that your project proposal is properly aligned with the research interests of my group. Send the project proposal, your resume, and a statement of why you want to work with me via email as a SINGLE PDF file. I will let you know if I am willing to supervise you, contingent upon your admission to QUT.
